Standing desks can be a great boon to your work life but there are things to consider before buying one.
- It will take some weeks to build up your endurance to be able to stand for hours at a time. Having an anti-fatigue mat helps with the soreness you will feel in your legs when you first start using your standing desk.
- Wear comfortable shoes with good cushion and support
- Take it slow and don’t try standing for your entire shift your first time trying your new standing desk. Have an option to sit such as a stool or a nearby chair.
- Make sure the standing desk is adjusted correctly to your arm height and length. That ensures you don’t develop soreness in your arms or conditions like carpel tunnel syndrome from using your standing desk.
